Owing to an increase in enquiries, we have an opportunity for a new civil tenant to join our set. The type of work includes small claims trials (mainly road traffic), possession proceedings and housing. Owing to being a multi-disciplinary set, there is the opportunity to work in other areas of law and to develop your practice to suit you, other opportunities include personal injury law, employment law and business & property. Applications from all levels of experience are welcome.
Benefits of Joining KCH Garden Square
We are one of the largest sets in the East Midlands offering clients a range of legal services from our two offices in Leicester and Nottingham.
Our civil team members generally work within the east midlands but do appear in courts across the west midlands and beyond. Members are free to choose how far they wish to travel and we strive to accommodate members who have commitments outside chambers (such as childcare) by supporting them in staying local.
We have a competitive rent and commission which for civil members includes access to Westlaw, online books and the White Book. We also have a library in our office in Nottingham.
As a member, you will have the support of our clerks and other civil team members to develop your practice. At KCH Garden Square we operate a buddy system for new members, this is where a more senior member volunteers to support you, assist you with on boarding at chambers, help answer any questions about the cases you have including ethical issues. We also have a team Whatsapp group for legal queries and social events.
A confidential chat
If you would like to enquire about joining our civil team, please contact Anthony Krugulec via e-mail on AKrogulec@kchgardensquare.co.uk or 0115 941 8851 for a confidential conversation about a tenancy at KCH Garden Square.
The Application Process
Applications are by way of CV and covering letter to AKrogulec@kchgardensquare.co.uk. Once your application has been received we will aim to arrange an interview with you at a mutually convenient time (we will aim to do this within a week of receipt of your application where possible). Once you have been interviewed, the interview panel will decide whether to make a recommendation to the civil team members to offer a tenancy. If you are recommended for a tenancy, the civil team members will then vote on making an offer of tenancy.
We know that applying for a tenancy can be both daunting and stressful therefore we aim to update you as to the outcome of your application as soon as possible and answer any questions you have along the way.
