Jemma is a member of the Honourable Society of Grays Inn and is due to be called to the bar in July 2023. She studied Law with Criminology at Birmingham City University where she also undertook a placement at a criminal defence solicitors’ firm in Birmingham. Jemma then went on to study the Barrister Professional Training Course (BPTC) at BPP Birmingham and is currently completing her Master of Laws in Bar Practice.

Jemma has previously worked for West Midlands Police for just over 3 years in a variety of staff roles including as a Volunteer Coordinator, Professional Standards Vetting Officer and Public Protection Investigating Officer. From this experience she enjoys both prosecution and defence work.

Jemma began her criminal pupillage in July 2023 under the supervision of Mr Jeremy Janes.
