Summary

Renata was called to the Bar in 1999 at Lincoln’s Inn and subsequently qualified as a solicitor in 2002.  She has practised both in High Street Firms in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.  She was also a Legal Adviser at the University of Derby where she dealt with large commercial contracts and procurement and has more recently worked In-House in at a large, local family-owned business where she has dealt with a wide range of matters including employment, landlord and tenant, debt recovery, commercial contracts and disputes.

In August 2021, she joined a local Leicester based chambers, before joining KCH Garden Square Chambers in November 2021.

Away from chambers Renata’s interest include travelling, walking, attending live music concerts and socialising with friends.

Renata has experience in proceedings on behalf of local authorities, housing associations and the police in relation to anti-social behaviour and is frequently instructed to seek injunctions, closure orders and committals pursuant to the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.  She is also experienced in obtaining access injunctions on behalf of local authorities and housing associations.  Additionally she is frequently instructed to represent both Landlords and Tenants in Residential Possession Proceedings and claims for disrepair.

Renata is frequently instructed to obtain Domestic Violence Protection Orders on behalf of the Police and prosecute breaches of the same.  She has also recently been instructed to represent the Police in obtaining a Stalking Protection Order pursuant to the Stalking Prevention Act 2019.  Additionally, she has been instructed by the Police to Defend an appeal against a freezing order made pursuant to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

Renata is also frequently instructed by the Home Office to deal with Forfeiture Orders pursuant to the Proceeds of Crime Act also has experience of applications for forfeiture of goods seized by the Director of Border Revenue pursuant to the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979.

Renata has significant experience in dealing with Credit Hire Claims, Small Claims Litigation, Fast Track and Multi Track Personal Injury Claims, acting for both Claimant and Defendant, along with contractual disputes including drafting pleadings and advices and attending CCMCC’s.

Renata also has experience in advising and representing clients in relation to wills and probate disputes including Inheritance Act Claims.

Prior to coming the to Bar, Renata was employed as an In-House Solicitor and has widespread experience in reviewing and advising on commercial contracts including JCT Contracts.

Renata has been instructed on behalf of Claimants and Respondents to advise and represent in Unfair Dismissal Claims and Disability Discrimination Claims before the Employment Tribunal
