Marc is a Senior Lecturer in Law and the LLB Programme Leader at the University of the West of England. He specialises in teaching Public Law, Medical Law and Ethics, and Tort Law and his research is broadly situated in constitutional and administrative law and human rights law and often concerns the limits of state power against the individual. His recent publications include articles on the limits of the supremacy of Parliament and the powers of British Overseas Territories.

Previously, Marc has taught at the University of Bristol, University of Leicester, and at the Truman Bodden Law School in the Cayman Islands where Marc was also a member of the Cayman Island Government’s Portfolio of Legal Affairs.

Recently, Marc has been part of a small team that has redesigned the LLB single honours degree at UWE, and this newly designed degree is due to commence in 2023. Marc is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has mentored lecturers who are looking to develop their practice, or who are new to academia. He is also an External Examiner and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

Prior to entering academia, Marc was Deputy Head of Human Resources and Corporate Governance for a housing association and, before this, he was the principal anti-social behaviour litigator dealing primarily with complex anti-social behaviour and neighbourhood management issues. Until 2018, Marc oversaw Child Protection and Safeguarding for a youth organisation and conducted investigations across South Wales.
