Summary

Lowri graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree with honours from the University of Birmingham before working at the CPS as a caseworker for 6 months, where she assisted with the administration side of magistrates’ court cases, liaising with the police and the lawyers. 

Lowri then studied the Bar Practice Course alongside a Master of Laws in Bar Practice at the University of Law, in which she achieved a distinction. 

Prior to pupillage, Lowri spent 18 months working at Purcell Parker Solicitors (a specialist criminal defence firm) firstly as a Prison Law Paralegal and then as a Crown Court Litigator where she was involved with a wide range of cases involving drugs, sexual offences, violent offences etc.

Lowri joined chambers as a tenant following successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Hal Ewing and Leanne Summers.

Since being on her feet, Lowri has developed a strong criminal practice, gaining both prosecution and defence work in the Magistrates’ Court and the Crown Court, including trials in the Crown Court.

Client care is extremely important to Lowri, and she prides herself on her commitment to providing the best possible service to both lay and professional clients. She is compassionate and provides advice that is realistic and robust.

Notable cases:

  • R v Smith (Court of Appeal, 2025) – Defence

Lowri successfully appealed a sentence that was passed at Leicester Crown Court for the offence of fraudulent trading, prosecuted by Trading Standards. The sentence of 5y11m was found to be manifestly excessive and was quashed by the Lord Justices. It was reduced by 10 months.

  • R v Balfour (Leicester Crown Court, 2025) – Prosecution

Lowri prosecuted a multi-count domestic case. She secured convictions for assault occasioning ABH, witness intimidation, and sharing an intimate photograph.

  • R v Walsh (Leicester Crown Court, 2025) – Defence

The client (JW) was charged with two counts of assault occasioning ABH on a joint enterprise basis. Lowri successfully argued on behalf of JW that he was not one of the males that got involved in the fight. The jury were deliberating for less than an hour before returning two unanimous not guilty verdicts.

  • R v Osman (Loughborough Magistrates’ Court, 2025) – Defence

The client, who had no previous convictions, was acquitted of sexual assault after trial.
