Summary
Dunya was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. She studied law at the University of Leicester, graduating with a first-class degree, and completed the Bar Professional Training Course at the University of Law.
Prior to joining chambers, Dunya acted as a Presenting Officer for the Home Office, where she gained significant advocacy experience before judges of the First-Tier Tribunal. She also represented individuals in the Employment Tribunal through the Free Representation Unit.
Dunya has worked as a paralegal in both residential and commercial property law at leading law firms. She assisted fee earners and managed her own caseload across a broad range of matters, including injunctions, telecommunications, rights of light, lease renewals, possession/forfeiture, and disrepair. There, she drafted statements of case, undertook legal research, and provided advice to landlords from the inception to the completion of a case.
Dunya has received numerous scholarships and awards in recognition of her intellectual ability and advocacy skills. These include:

As a student, Dunya participated in and excelled at a number of advocacy competitions, including:
- Winner of the Leicester University Debating Alliance Championship,
- Finalist of the BPC Negotiation Competition,
- Finalist of the KCH Garden Square Civil Advocacy Competition.
She also mentored students and assisted with the University’s mooting programmes, acting as a judge and delivering workshops.
Dunya is fluent in Dari and is passionate about social mobility. She founded the Afghan Debating Society for Children to support young Afghans with integration into society.
