Tom has over 25 years of experience in litigation, first as a solicitor and since 2004 as a barrister. His practice encompasses property-related disputes, contentious probate and employment.
With a wealth of experience in cases involving trusts of land, Tom has recently received training in relation to family finance work and is available for instruction in any type of financial dispute following relationship breakdown (encompassing both marriage and co-habitation).
He appears regularly in the High Court and the County Courts, and enjoys a reputation as a succinct and effective trial advocate.
Tom represented the successful Appellant in the Court of Appeal in Rogerson v Bolsover District Council  EWCA Civ 226.
In recent years, Tom has achieved many successful outcomes for clients at trial in cases ranging from trusts of land to unlawful eviction to commercial disputes. However, his focus is primarily on avoiding litigation wherever possible and encouraging negotiated settlement of cases.
Tom is also a mediator with over 12 years of experience. He is regularly asked to mediate a wide range of disputes and has an excellent record in this field of work.
