The judgments have been published in a case in which James Cleary (for the local authority) and Steven Veitch (for the mother) both acted over the last two years. The case involved very serious sexual abuse within a family, requiring the highest skill from the barristers involved on all sides.
In R, S and T (Children) [2018] EWFC B102 the court considered whether the local authority should arrange an interview with a child, who was said to have witnessed the sexual abuse of his siblings.
In R, S and T (Children) [2018] EWFC B103 the court made findings that the mother had abused her learning disabled son, whilst the father, her other son and daughter watched. The father was also found to have raped their daughter.
