Jonathan Straw appointed as a Circuit Judge

Congratulations to our former member Jonathan Straw, who today has been appointed by The King to be a Circuit Judge.

His Honour Judge Straw will be on the Midlands Circuit, based at Derby Combined Court (Crown) from next month.

Jonathan was called to the Bar in 1992 and practiced in crime. He was appointed as an Assistant Coroner in 2018, as a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal in 2020, and left Chambers in 2021 when he was appointed as a District Judge (Magistrate’s Court).
