Frida was called to the Bar in 2014 by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. She studied LLB Law (Hons) at Queen Mary University of London and LLM Law at University College London, before completing the Bar Course at BPP Law School (now BPP University) in Holborn, London. Frida joined Chambers in October 2017 after having successfully completed her pupillage under the supervision of Moira Ashton – Walsh and Kathleen Hayter.

Frida is regularly instructed in both Public and Private family law proceedings. Frida has acted in cases involving non- accidental injuries to infants and is regularly instructed to act in emergency interim removal hearings. Frida regularly works on highly sensitive cases with clients that are vulnerable and face challenges such as drug use, anger management and mental health issues necessitating complex and detailed advice.

Frida has recently received very positive feedback following a challenging 3 day case. Frida’s instructing solicitor & client were very happy with Frida’s representation and believe that the favourable outcome was as a direct result of Frida’s representation & commitment to the case.

During her pupillage, Frida also worked on cases including issues such as international child abduction, parental alienation and stranded spouse.

Frida is also instructed in ancillary relief matters.

Prior to pupillage, Frida acted as a County Court Advocate for two years, gaining experience in a wide range of civil matters including but not limited to small claims hearings, contractual disputes, possession claims, personal insolvency and procedural applications.

Frida has also worked as a Consultant for CRIN (Child Right International Network), carrying out research into child specific legal aid clinics in the UK and internationally, a project aiming to create an international network of clinics and a guide for how they should be run. Frida previously carried out Pro Bono work for the same organisation researching the effects of Payment by Results policies on children and children’s rights.

Frida worked as a Costs Advocate for a period of one and a half years, gaining experience of summary and detailed assessments.

Frida moved from Sweden to the UK in 2006 to undertake her legal training. Frida’s electives in her LLB Law (Hons) included Public International Law, International Human Rights, Use of Force in International Law and Media Law. Frida’s dissertation explored children’s rights and children’s status as national and international citizens.

Frida’s LLM Law was focused on International Human Rights Law, Gender Law and the State, Children’s Rights, Legal Aspects of Education and International Human Rights of Women. Frida’s dissertation addressed children’s rights with a focus on the position of the girl-child, undertaking a feminist critique of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
