Summary

Sarah was called to the Bar in 2017 by the Honourable Society of The Inner Temple. She studied LLB Law at the University of Liverpool and graduated with First Class Honours. Sarah completed her BPTC at Nottingham Law School where she received a scholarship for her Academic Excellence. She achieved ‘Outstanding’ grades in Family and Resolutions of Disputes Out of Court.

 

Sarah is completing a Family and Civil Pupillage under the supervision of Mrs Moira Ashton-Walsh, Mr Steven Veitch and Mr James Cleary.

Background

Prior to commencing Pupillage, Sarah worked as a County Court Advocate in the Midlands Circuit. She gained substantial experience acting in a number of civil matters including personal insolvency, debt recovery, infant settlement hearings, procedural applications and possession claims.

Throughout her studies Sarah was involved in several pro bono projects, working with both the Liverpool Law Clinic and Nottingham Legal Advice Centre. Mostly notably Sarah volunteered as part of the Hillsborough Disaster Project, assisting one of the legal teams in the build up to the Hillsborough Inquiry. Sarah also volunteered as a Student Advisor on the Nottingham Women’s Outreach Project, offering free legal advice to users of Nottingham Women’s Centre.

At University Sarah enjoyed regular participation in children’s rights debates, mooting, advocacy, and negotiation competitions; she was later elected Negotiation Chairwoman and organised the DLA Piper Negotiation Competition.
As a result of Sarah’s dedication to local projects and initiatives, she was nominated for the ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Life of the Law School’ award at the University of Liverpool.
