Mark Knowles

Year of Call 1989

Mark has over 20 years experience in defending and prosecuting criminal cases, being called to the Bar in 1989. His expertise spans murder, fraud, serious sexual offences, drug-related crime and serious offences of violence – conducting many cases as a Leading Junior. In this time, Mark has achieved the status of Grade 4 Prosecutor.

He also undertakes all aspects of child law and protection from domestic violence. He has particular experience in Finding of Fact hearings on often very sensitive matters.

 

Summary

He has conducted every possible type of case, both on behalf of the Prosecution and Defence. Mark has also developed particular expertise in complex commercial fraud and is regarded as a natural jury advocate, being very approachable.

His vast experience of criminal sexual offence cases assists in the cross examination of child witnesses and experts and as such, he is regularly instructed in cases involving serious sexual abuse and neglect.

Mark practices as a Criminal, Family and Public Access barrister, and is also a registered Pupil Master.
