Edward previously qualified as a solicitor in October 2012 and practised as a solicitor at 2 leading Leicestershire law firms before being called to the Bar in March 2014 at Lincoln’s Inn. As a solicitor, Edward specialised in civil and commercial litigation dealing with a range of contractual and property disputes. In May 2014 Edward joined New Walk Chambers undertaking a mixed civil and criminal practice, before joining KCH Garden Square in September 2015.
Since joining KCH Garden Square, Edward’s civil practice has expanded and he is now regularly instructed on small claim and fast track RTAs, personal injury matters and housing disputes. He has been instructed on a number of licencing disputes including alcohol premises licence reviews and taxi licence appeals. Edward has a growing commercial litigation practice mainly dealing with small claim and fast-track commercial disputes.
Edward has an established criminal practice dealing mainly with private prosecutions on behalf of local authorities, the police and dealing with intellectual property matters in the magistrate’s court (counterfeit goods). Edward also represents individuals on a range of driving offences.
Corporate and Commercial
As a former solicitor, Edward has experience in drafting terms and conditions, partnership agreements, shareholder agreements and consultancy agreements. He continues to be instructed to draft agreements on behalf of commercial clients often by way of direct access.
