Summary

Claire was called to the Bar in 2013 by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. She studied LLB Law at Nottingham Trent University followed by LLM, Masters in Criminal Justice with Human Rights Law, at Nottingham Law School. Claire completed her BPTC at Nottingham Law School where she received a very competent, with ‘outstanding’ grades in Family Litigation and advocacy.

 

Claire is completing a Family and Civil Pupillage under the supervision of Mr James Cleary.

Background

Prior to commencing Pupillage, Claire worked as a legal practitioner at a Local Authority dealing with all aspects of legal care proceedings. She assisted on some extremely complex matters involving multiple medical experts and extensive evidence.

Claire also gained considerable experience of civil litigation whilst working as a county court advocate on the Midland Circuit.  She acted in a number of civil matters including personal insolvency, debt recovery, infant settlement hearings, and possession claims.

In addition, Claire has private litigation experience in criminal defence, clinical negligence and Court of Protection.
At University Claire enjoyed regular participation in mooting and advocacy competitions, winning an international mooting competition held at the University of Amsterdam and being a finalist in the Nottingham ‘Hammond Cup Advocacy Competition’.
